After a week of rehearsals, the cast, band and music director for Gayland gathered at the Yellow Sound Lab and Log Cabin studios in New York to capture the new music we’ve been working on over the last year. Thanks to our awesome team!
We’ve finished the revisions based on what we learned at the December table read at the York Theatre in Manhattan. And soon we’ll be recording both our new and revised songs, including “Fighting & (Bleep)ing,” “You Gotta Work The Crowd,” and “Breeder,” (which spoofs the opening number of the smash-hit Hamilton.)
“Sensitive Me” has been redone to make it a visceral experience of breeder-phobia, and now includes rhymed retching, a Broadway first!
As we’ve developed Gayland 2.0, we have added many new songs, including the sweet “Life Is A Tiny Flicker” and the cool and sophisticated, “I Wanna See Your Cum Face.”
There will be a new audio recording of of the entire Gayland score this weekend at the lovely Esplanade Studios in New Orleans, where John Legend, Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson and many others have laid down tracks.
